Update your Mobile Control II throttle

Due to constant further development, your Mobile Control II handset will also require software updates from time to time. If you have connected your Mobile Control II to your home network and therefore to the Internet, software updates are normally retrieved and installed automatically from the Google PlayStore.

In many cases, however, the Mobile Control II will only be directly connected to the ESU ECoS Command station and therefore cannot be updated automatically. To update the ESU App, you need to use the Mobile Control Firmware Update Tool and perform the update as shown here.

First install the update software on your PC. It is possible that missing Microsoft .Net components will be installed from the Microsoft website during the installation. In this case, the installation will take longer. After installation, start the software. The software will now search for a Mobile Control II on a USB port.

Now connect the switched-on Mobile Control II to a USB port on your computer. The device should be recognised automatically. The software automatically offers to update the two apps that are provided by ESU for the Mobile Control.

  • The "Mobile Control II" App
  • The Backgroundprocess called "Throttle Service" for the motorized knob control.

Click on ‘Start update’ to start the update.

For security reasons, the Android operating system requires you to confirm the installation in the next step. To do this, you must press the ‘OK’ button directly on the screen of your Mobile Control II handset.

The operating system will then show you which rights the new app to be installed requires and whether you agree to this. You must also confirm this step by clicking on the ‘Install’ button.

After a few seconds, the first app is updated and you should also initiate the Throttle Services update on the PC screen by pressing the ‘Install next app’ button. Once again, confirm this directly on the Mobile Control II screen.

That's it! It's that easy to update your Mobile Control II hand controller to the latest version.
